So, not only do I have a job at a mineral gallery, I have an apprenticeship/job at a custom jeweler's in town!! AND I'm growing my business (which is great) and I'll be making an appearance with my wire wrapping at the mini maker's faire at a local library in town in about two weeks.  I AM SO EXCITED. There's a long list of things that are just going really well, but because I've been so focused on getting my life in order, 2 things have not gotten done recently: classwork and jewelry making omfg .  I've made a couple new pieces but not as many as I'd like. BUT since I just got a huge crop of commissions all that is about to change (cue ominous evil laugh)Devil  and I'm in the middle of ordering a bunch of new wire and doing a bunch of paperwork online like emails and finances :PWriting Emote - NaNo5 typerhappy Kaoani Computer monster OMG MOAR POEMS!  So wish me luck internet! and of course, I'll be back real soon :)

THAT'S RIGHT. ME.  Gibson's Gallery is a gem, mineral, and fossil gallery that also consigns jewelry-- located in a premier famous and historic hotel in the area.  I visited today to see about possibly consigning some of my work, since its a higher end area and a well reputed shop.  And, as a result of my labors, I met the owners, who NOT ONLY want me to bring in my favorite pieces from my inventory to consign on Monday morning, BUT ALSO want me to meet their manager (and only employee) to GIVE ME A JOB. THAT'S RIGHT PEOPLE I GOT OFFERED A JOB AT A MINERAL GALLERY!!!!!  And not just any mineral gallery, a fine jewelry, very reputable mineral gallery in the area, located in a four star historic hotel.  OH YES.
This is Me: :excited: Excited Can we go NAO :omgomg: :chairdance: :excited: rvmp :tribblela:  .... and many more. I am literally bouncing right now.  bouncing.

I went on a huge deviantart spree (believe it or not there is more to come) and couldn't keep up with people's comments or favorites.  I didn't expect there to be as many as there were, and then there were just too many.  So, If you faved a piece (or pieces), watched, commented on, or awarded llama badges to, me or my pieces, THANK YOU! All of you rock and I'll be able to show you more jewelry soon :)
Have a lovely day,
Claire

Commission: Cowee: TurkPetWood (2) Front by claire109
Commission: Cowee: TurkPetWood (2) Front
A close up of the filigree side of the second turkish petrified wood pendant commissioned by the Mason Mountain Mine and Cowee Gift Shop.  The reverse side is much more stone-centered, whereas this side is wirework centered.  That way the wearer can choose to display one of two almost completely different pendants at any given time

--Jeweler, Wire wrapper, Silversmith, Lapidary Artist, Pianist, Engineer-in-Training, Entrepreneur, Problem solver, Self-professed over-motivated weirdo.
--Super nerdy 16 year old high school graduate with way too much time on her hands. Taking a gap year before heading off to college (because no one wants a 16 year old room mate) to study mechanical engineering.
--In the mean time, I take online classes, pursue piano and guitar (the former of which I have played for almost 14 years, the latter of which I just started), Speak random Japanese, ballroom dance, read, sew, paint, and travel. I cut my own cabochons which I then wrap in .925 sterling silver wire to sell to the general populace. Occasionally I dabble in beading, chainmail, and silversmithy, but not often due to my general lack of funds and patience.
--Two strange facts about myself--
1.) I have lived in 9 places and gone to 8 schools since I was born, not counting college.
2.) I have a giant list of skills and artisan crafts I want to learn before I die-- including but not limited to, blacksmithy, faceting, salsa, business law, german, carpentry, shotokan, (the list goes on)

You make some absolutely brilliant jewellery! And I am not usually one to go crazy over such things ;) But I found at least three items in your gallery, that I would have bought if I had come across them!
Keep it up! You are brilliantly talented!
